Integrative Medicine, Education and Healing
From the DTA Spring 2004 Newsletter...
Integrative medicine is the term currently used by the national institutes of health to describe health care that works in combination with traditional medical care. It includes, and goes beyond, alternative and complementary medicine. We embrace a functional approach to integration. Our physical therapy and speech therapy services fall within this area.
Integrative education is the term we use to describe education and learning from a brain-based, multi-sensory, family focused approach. Our developmental therapy, speech therapy, literacy, behavior and communication services are included in this area.
Integrative healing is the term we use to describe change through the healing arts, integrating emotion, energetics, mental, physical, spiritual and karmic dimensions for healing. Our Integrated Awareness offerings are a part of this area.
Most of our services, programs and workshop offerings cross the lines between these areas. We use every teaching opportunity, and possibilities abound in all areas. Each person can choose how much they want to change and grow, in little or big bites, and what style of service is the best match for them.

What is Integrative Medicine, Education and Healing?
Integrative medicine, education and healing respects that complementary, alternative and mainstream (science-based) approaches may be integrated to provide excellence in outcomes for all clients at DTA Center for Learning & Growing. Medically, we see this in the interface of consumer oriented use of medicine and medical doctors with more complementary approaches that empower the individual client or family member to choose their care. In education we integrate home, family and school with client / child interest as the guide to become more empowered. Integrated healing expands on personal growth without the presumption of "being broken". This encourages the integration to occur within the individual and outwardly to the world.
